The third age with zaros which began the god wars' banishment. The fourth era by guthix's return (the destruction of the whole continent of forinthry) and the establishment of the edicts, and the fifth age by the discovery of runes (not rune ess w/ rune mysteries). Guthix's death was a major, important event in gielinor's history as the edicts that retained the remainder of the world were destroyed by it. Very. You need to be a little more comprehensive by what you mean by"swerve" individuals. The lore has ever been deeply intricate. You seemingly just have a mild comprehension of the lore from the games, and because of that I find myself disagreeing with a lot.
To be honest, you've got to get an extremely high IQ to understand RS3 lore. The writing is extremely subtle, and without a good grasp of inter-planar magics the majority of the plot will go within a normal participant's head. There Sliske's nihilistic perspective, which is deftly woven into his characterization - his personal doctrine draws for instance. The true scapers know the stuff; they have the intellectual capability to genuinely appreciate the depths of those quests, so to realize they're not just interesting- they say something profound about LIFE.
As a consequence people who dislike RS3 lore truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for example, the humour in Guthix's existential dying phrases"Player....Forget me"?? And no, you can't see it. It's for the women' eyes only- And they have to demonstrate that they're in 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
I can relate to this impression that the gods were these beings that are almighty back in the day. Wielding a Zammy book made you feel as if you had a touch of greatness. Sometime because I have mastered it was disappointing to hear people are farming gods, I am not in end game so can not comment too much, but it just doesn't feel right. I loved (and lately re-love) RuneScape because it's so cool and you may just go and take the role as a very simple fisherman for a couple hours since you really feel like it. I really don't want to be the world slaughtering gods amongst hordes of other players/demigods' Dragonborn saviour. However, I'm probably older than the average playerbase at this point. Maybe the lucrative (younger?) Playerbase react positive to the god complex thing, it's certainly the tendency in MMOs.
I agree. While Guthix Sleeps is undoubtedly my favourite RS3 pursuit, and you will find several other 5th age ones that I would like OSRS to perform their spin. The entry into the era, and the World Wakes was when I lost interest in the quests. I think that put me off RuneScape match more. I must say I like what they did with the gods.
